What is Hypnosis
Hypnosis, to some extent, is experienced by everyone; think daydreaming or car trance. Essentially it’s a state of consciousness marked by hyper focus, deep relaxation, and a change in brain wave function from normal alert beta waves to more calm, relaxed, and meditative alpha and theta waves.
Quite simply, Hypnosis takes advantage of this naturally occurring state.
A Hypnotherapist uses specific relaxation techniques and suggestions to induce the hypnotic state for their clients to reinforce their intentions to live healthier lives and address negative reoccurring behavior and/or thought patterns. The APA (American Psychological Association) recognizes hypnosis as a valid therapeutic intervention for addressing a range of mental health issues faced by women including stress reduction, managing anxiety and depression, improving sleep, reducing menopausal symptoms, and enhancing overall emotional well-being.
